Digital Fineprint (DFP) has just won “First Runner Up” at the InvestHK Award for Best Fintech. The London-based startup has quickly strengthened its position in the growing InsurTech space. After raising Series A investment from Pentech at the end of 2017, the company is now expanding across the globe, with Asia as a key focus.

The InvestHK UK Fintech Award 2018 saw over 200 companies apply and contestants included Railsbank and Revolut. Digital Fineprint has previously won awards for “Best InsurTech Startup at The Digital Insurer conference, but has now also established itself firmly among the best Fintech startups in the world.

The event was run by InvestHK togheter with the UK Department for International Trade to identify the best Fintech startups in the UK. InvestHK also used the competition to showcase the exciting opportunities Hong Kong presents as a platform to Asia.

Erik Abrahamsson, Founder & CEO of Digital Fineprint, and also a previous exchange student at the University of Hong Kong, shared his excitement about the possibility of tapping into the Hong Kong market: “Hong Kong is a very attractive option and we are grateful for the support of strong local partners such as InvestHK. This competition saw some amazing contestants that we respect and learn from, such as Revolut, and we are incredibly lucky to be named as one of the two winners.”

As part of the award, Mosaic Smart Data and Digital Fineprint, also won business class tickets to Hong Kong sponsored by Cathay Pacific, to the Hong Kong FinTech Week. During the trip, they will receive networking opportunities and sector expert counsel on how to expand and scale their business in Hong Kong and across Asia.
